John McEwan-Whyte is a film-maker, playwright and actor based in Edinburgh originally from North-East Scotland. Starting his professional acting career whilst studying physics at Glasgow University, John has recently graduated from a playwriting masters in fine arts at Napier university, culminating in a show at the 2021 Edinburgh fringe.

John's latest short film, "Desert Island Music" filmed entirely under lockdown has been accepted to a number of film festivals and reached the quarter finals of Leeds' "Jump Cuts Film Festival"


John is passionate about acting and writing, believing the only way to change the world for the better is through telling stories that seed empathy in the society we are all a part of.
